I am passionate about designing systems that help people see and understand their data. While a student, I became intrigued with statistical programming and this lead to a career in data science. At the time, I had to write thousands of lines of code to clean, prep, load, and analyze datasets just so we could have basic, static graphics. It became apparent to me that as systems and requirements changed the code base would balloon to a size where only experts could operate. I lived in this world until I found Tableau – an easy-to-use data analysis tool with a drag and drop interface that allows the user to put their emphasis on the presentation of their data, rather than spending hours learning some scripting language. I became hooked with this software and joined the company as a Technical Consultant. Today I help some the largest companies in the world to visually see their data.
